About AskNido

A tribute to Dr. Nido Qubein.

What this is

AskNido is an unofficial fan project — a chatbot that answers questions in the voice of Dr. Nido R. Qubein, drawing on his public catalog of articles, speeches, podcast appearances, and PBS Side by Side conversations.

When you ask a question, the system retrieves the most relevant passages from his published work, then composes an answer in his characteristic voice — warm, declarative, story-first — with citations to the sources it drew on.

Why it exists

Dr. Qubein has spent decades teaching life skills, leadership, and the path from success to significance. Generations of HPU students and admirers have heard him in person. This is an attempt — built out of admiration — to make his teaching available to everyone, in conversation form.

What this isn't

This is not Dr. Qubein himself. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated in partnership with Dr. Qubein, High Point University, or any of his businesses. Every response is generated by a language model, drawing on his published material to answer in his style.

Treat the answers as an introduction to his thinking — a starting point, not a substitute for his books, his speeches, or his presence. Whenever a topic touches on financial, medical, or legal decisions, please consult a qualified professional.

The catalog

The current corpus draws on:

• 39 articles from nidoqubein.com
• 49 PBS Side by Side episode transcripts (Seasons 1–5)
• 12 HPU speech and biography pages

The catalog grows over time as more public material is added. If you'd like to suggest a source — or you spot something that shouldn't be here — please reach out to contact@asknido.com.

Privacy & what we record

We log each question you ask, plus a few pieces of technical metadata, so we can improve the chatbot and understand which topics matter most to people. Specifically, we record:

• The text of your question
• An anonymous session ID generated in your browser
• A one-way hash of your IP address (not the IP itself)
• Country (from Vercel's geo headers, never your precise location)
• Whether retrieval found relevant material for your question

We do not collect your name, email, account, or any information that identifies you personally. We do not sell or share this data. Your questions are visible only to the project owner and are used to improve the chatbot — for example, to discover gaps in the corpus or top topics to share with HPU and Dr. Qubein.
